Access to always up-to-date information
The CMS acts as a point of access to up-to-date information about an organization’s entire environment: its infrastructure, personnel, applications, services, processes and other company-specific data.
Each object of the actual environment corresponds to a configuration element representing it, with a description of its current and past configuration. The database also contains information about the relationships between all configuration units. With the help of the CMS, it is possible to gain knowledge about the role and involvement of individual configuration units in the implementation of business and organizational processes.
The CMS collects configuration information both from people (e.g. in the form of a survey), and from detection subsystems (automatic detection, technical inventory systems) and integrated systems (e.g. asset management or data centers). With the ability to store authorized configuration status, the system supports the change management process. It also provides the organization with greater security by controlling the configuration (according to a defined policy) and enables analysis of the impact of the failure of one logical or physical component on the others.
The configuration management system enables an organization to:
storing information on people, equipment, etc.
02:
Create a single logical data store thanks to the federation function
04:
Automatically detect the configuration unit of different types
06:
Configure the configuration policy and control the compliance of the current configuration with defined policies
08:
Seamlessly use all functionalities from mobile devices
